English B& Bs have definitely moved into a different league. No more plastic double glazing and tiny shower cubicles squeezed into a cupboard, no chintz and quilts. This was a room - in fact a suite of rooms - worthy of a boutique hotel, fabulously comfortable bed, really well equipped bathroom and perfect to accommodate two large and lively dogs, with a little vestibule and feeding area for the coralling of muddy paws and walking boots. Breakfast was equally wonderful. Our host was welcoming and really helpful, the location was just great and we had a brilliant time all round.Very highly recommended. - Cathy B
My boyfriend and I booked two bedrooms (both with en-suites) for ourselves and my parents, and we brought with us our 2 very large dogs. The description says 'pet-friendly' but they really are pet friendly(!) the dogs had plenty of room and had a lovely run in one of the owners private fields. The host could not have been more hospitable, and the breakfast was lovely! The B& B is only a short walk from the beautiful village of Cartmel where we had a wonderful dinner at a lovely restaurant / pub (which was also dog friendly!). All round a great stay, and would definitely return (hopefully next time I'll book far enough in advance to hack out one of their beautiful horses)! - Becca D
We can highly recommend Greenbank Farm Holidays. We stayed in the en-suite Valley View room & were very comfortable. When we came down in the morning we were amazed at the selection on offer for breakfast & our only disappointment was that we didn’t have room to sample everything!!! Maybe we’ll just have to come back to taste that Bavarian bread! Thank you to our hostesses for looking after us so well.- Sue & Alan S
